Consultation

Our specialist clinical, educational and child psychologists apply their psychological knowledge during consultations to assist in setting up new provisions or services, carrying out reviews, problem-solving and using expert specialist knowledge to advise.

We provide a free initial discussion to schools to discuss a framework for specific consultancy work and to agree on a scope for the consultancy work.

What happens during a consultation?

Consultations review situations through a psychology perspective to support your school in moving forward proactively. Advice, support and guidance are incorporated into our consultations. We find that consultations are effective when schools need an external individual to provide new insights and implement sustainable change. Our consultations can help you with crisis situations because of changes within the school environment or in circumstances in the school, such as increasingly challenging cohorts, the loss of a student or staff member, or recommendations related to OFSTED. Consultations are also used in a planning capacity, for example when planning new provision, an alternative curriculum or preparing for a future situation. During consultations we could be using our existing network within educational and child psychology, and special educational needs and disabilities.

What happens after a consultation?

The responsibility to put actions into place is agreed between our psychologists and the school, which are then put into place. It is good practice to review the impact of the consultation after a set period of time.

Our consultation services are extremely flexible and adaptive to your needs, the above includes examples of common usages within schools. If you would like to discuss your needs or to arrange your free initial discussion then please contact us.
