Consultation

We provide expert consultations from our clinical, educational and child psychologists.

A consultation refers to our clinical, educational and child psychologists using their specialist knowledge and experience to provide a professional opinion, advice, assist others in problem-solving or setting up services.

Consultations can be in relation to a particular child / young person, or systemic work. Consultation regarding a particular child or young person may involve working with parents, carers, families or education setting. Systemic consultation work usually involves working with organisations such as education settings, local authorities, professionals and those involved in delivering educational and child psychology services or creating resources.

Meet the team

We believe in the importance of an evidence-based approach that is both professional and cost effective. We value our team’s ability to provide a broad range of services and share specialist knowledge.

What happens during an individual case consultation?

During an individual case consultation one of our psychologists will discuss a specific child or young person with the view to provide advice and guidance about current and future provision.

If you are a parent or carer who has requested our involvement then we suggest that you obtain relevant information from the school beforehand. Having access to this information provides a comprehensive understanding to discuss your child and shared goals.

What happens during a systemic consultation?

A systemic consultation involves one, or more, of our psychologists providing their professional input in relation to advice relating to provision, policies, identifying global needs or an alternative issue. If the purpose of a consultation is to problem-solve or assist in the setting up of services then time will be spent applying our psychologist’s expertise and experience to the situation at hand.

Consultations are valuable services as they are extremely flexible to your needs and requirements. To find out more about our consultation services, or to talk to a member of our team then please contact us now.
